Where to stay near the Raleigh Convention Center

Furnished apartments for your Raleigh conference — a short walk to the show floor, a full kitchen for a multi-day stay, and one of downtown’s best locations to come back to. Our apartment sits in 400H, the 2023 high-rise at the crossroads of the Warehouse District and Glenwood South, about a 12–15 minute walk from the Raleigh Convention Center. When the connected Marriott room block sells out or surge-prices, a downtown apartment is the better multi-night value: a full kitchen, in-unit laundry, secured parking, and a rate that amortizes over a 3–7 night stay.

Apartment vs hotel

Built for an event weekend, not just a night

  • A full kitchen

Feed a group before the event and skip the overpriced venue concessions. Cookware, dishwasher, full-size fridge — all included.

  • Room to spread out

A separate bedroom, a full living room, and a real kitchen — room to actually relax or work, not one cramped hotel room.

  • In-unit laundry

Pack light for a multi-night run of shows or a season of home games. Washer and dryer in every unit.

  • Lower per-night cost

For two nights or more, a furnished apartment usually beats a comparable downtown hotel — and direct booking drops the 15–20% OTA service fee entirely.

  • Walk, don’t park

Most event venues sell little or no on-site parking, and nearby decks fill up and add up fast. Stay within walking distance and skip the cost and the post-event traffic.

  • A local team, not a call center

We own and operate every apartment. Book direct and you reach the people who run the building, instantly confirmed.

Getting around

No car needed

400H sits at the crossroads of downtown Raleigh's Warehouse District, Glenwood South, and Capital District — one of the city's most walkable addresses. Walk to the show floor in about 12–15 minutes, then walk to dinner and nightlife on Glenwood South or the Morgan Street Food Hall. Raleigh Union Station is a short walk away, so many guests arrive car-free.

  • On foot

Downtown Raleigh is compact and walkable — the convention center is about a 12–15 minute walk south through the Warehouse District, and the R-LINE circulator bus loops the downtown core if you would rather ride.

  • Amtrak — Raleigh Union Station

Raleigh Union Station is a short walk away in the Warehouse District, served by the Carolinian (to Durham, Greensboro, Charlotte, and on to NYC), the Piedmont, and the Floridian — arrive by train without a car.

  • Raleigh-Durham (RDU) airport

About 16 miles / a 20–25 minute drive — rideshare into downtown Raleigh is quick and easy.

  • GoRaleigh bus

Downtown's GoRaleigh bus hub is a few blocks away, connecting the core to the rest of the city.

Make a weekend of it

Steps from the show, and everything around it

After the last session, downtown Raleigh is at your door — Glenwood South's restaurants and rooftops, the Warehouse District's food hall and galleries, all a short walk from 400H.

NightlifeAt the door

Glenwood South

Raleigh's main entertainment strip — restaurants, rooftop bars, and live music — starts right at 400H's door, a natural after-session dinner or team night out.

Food & drink3–8 min

Warehouse District & Morgan Street Food Hall

A food hall with ~20 local concepts, plus the breweries, restaurants, and the Videri Chocolate Factory of the booming Warehouse District — all a short walk away.

Arts5–8 min

CAM Raleigh

The Contemporary Art Museum anchors the Warehouse District's gallery scene — a quick cultural break between sessions, a few blocks from your apartment.

Music12–15 min

Red Hat Amphitheater

Raleigh's ~6,000-seat outdoor amphitheater sits right beside the convention center — catch a 2026 summer concert after the show floor closes (a larger replacement opens a block south for 2027).

Planning for 2026: The Raleigh Convention Center is in the middle of a major expansion that adds roughly another city block of event space (with the adjacent Red Hat Amphitheater being rebuilt). Expect some construction downtown through the project — one more reason to stay within walking distance rather than circle for an event-day deck.

Good to know

Questions before you book

How far is the apartment from the Raleigh Convention Center?

400H is about a 12–15 minute walk south through the Warehouse District (roughly 0.7 mile), or a quick rideshare. One guest called it "a nice 15 min walk" to the convention center. Times are approximate and vary by exact route.

Is this a good option when the convention room block sells out?

Yes — that is exactly the fit. The connected Raleigh Marriott City Center and nearby downtown hotel blocks routinely sell out or surge-price during peak conventions, with hard cut-off dates. A downtown apartment is the better multi-night fallback: more space, a full kitchen and in-unit laundry, and a rate that amortizes well over a 3–7 night stay.

Can I walk to the show floor?

Yes — it is about a 12–15 minute walk south through downtown, so you can leave the car parked, walk to the sessions, and walk back to a full kitchen on a break. If you would rather ride, the R-LINE downtown circulator and a rideshare are both quick options.

Is it a good base for a multi-day exhibitor or business stay?

Very much so. The apartment is a furnished 1-bedroom (sleeps three) with a full kitchen, in-unit laundry, and room to work in the evening — a comfortable base for an exhibitor or business traveler who would rather not live out of a hotel room for a week. Exhibitors often need extra nights for setup and teardown, and a full week in an apartment beats a string of hotel nights.

Where do I park during a convention?

The convention center has no free lot; the City’s Convention Center and Charter Square underground decks run about $3/hour (roughly a $15 daily max, or a flat special-event rate), and registration rarely includes parking. 400H includes secured resident parking, so you park once for the whole stay instead of paying daily event rates — and from 400H you can simply walk.

Can I get there from the airport without a car?

Yes. Raleigh Union Station (Amtrak — the Carolinian, Piedmont, and Floridian) is a short walk from 400H, and RDU airport is about a 20–25 minute drive. Downtown Raleigh is compact and walkable, so a car is genuinely optional.
