Apartment vs hotel

Built for an event weekend, not just a night

  • A full kitchen

Feed a group before the event and skip the overpriced venue concessions. Cookware, dishwasher, full-size fridge — all included.

  • Room to spread out

A separate bedroom, a full living room, and a real kitchen — room to actually relax or work, not one cramped hotel room.

  • In-unit laundry

Pack light for a multi-night run of shows or a season of home games. Washer and dryer in every unit.

  • Lower per-night cost

For two nights or more, a furnished apartment usually beats a comparable downtown hotel — and direct booking drops the 15–20% OTA service fee entirely.

  • Skip the post-show grind

Event lots empty slowly and the drive home is long. Stay minutes away and the worst of your night is a short, familiar trip back to your own door — resident parking waiting, no hour-plus crawl out and no late highway haul.

  • A local team, not a call center

We own and operate every apartment. Book direct and you reach the people who run the building, instantly confirmed.

Getting around

Getting there & back

This is a drive-to stadium — about 5 miles west of downtown in the Fairgrounds / Lenovo Center complex, with no rail in Raleigh, so plan on a ~12–15 minute drive, a rideshare, or NC State's game-day Wolfline shuttle from a Park & Ride. The upside is your base: 400H is in the heart of walkable downtown, so Glenwood South, the Warehouse District, and Raleigh Union Station are all on foot.

  • By car

West on Wade Avenue toward the Fairgrounds / Trinity Road — about 5 miles / 12–15 minutes from downtown, longer on game day. Stadium lots are reserved/permit; rideshare and the free Park & Ride lots are the no-permit options.

  • NC State Wolfline “Red Terror” shuttle

On game days NC State runs free shuttles from campus and free Park & Ride lots to the stadium — a common car-free option if you drive partway and park off-site.

  • Rideshare

A quick hop from downtown — drop-off and pickup stage at the Fairgrounds reserved lot off Trinity Road near Gate C. The easy call to skip the game-day permits.

  • Raleigh-Durham (RDU) airport

    About 12 miles / a 20-minute drive — easy for a fly-in game weekend.

Good to know

Questions before you book

How far is the apartment from Carter-Finley Stadium?

400H is in downtown Raleigh, about 5 miles — a 12–15 minute drive west on Wade Avenue — from the stadium. Game-day traffic runs longer, so many fans rideshare or use NC State’s Park & Ride and the Wolfline shuttle. Times are approximate.

Can I get to the game without a parking permit?

Yes. Carter-Finley’s on-site lots are reserved/permit on game days, but NC State runs free off-campus Park & Ride lots with Wolfline “Red Terror” shuttles to the stadium, and a rideshare from downtown (drop-off at the Fairgrounds lot off Trinity Road) is easy. Raleigh has no light rail, so plan to drive or ride.

What's the 2026 home schedule?

Seven home games at Carter-Finley: Richmond on a Friday-night home opener (Sep 11, 7pm), Appalachian State (Sep 26), Louisville (Oct 3), the Wake Forest rivalry (Oct 10), California (Oct 31), the Duke rivalry (Nov 7), and Syracuse (Nov 14). Kickoff times are set about 12 days out, and a couple of dates could flex to Friday.

How big is Carter-Finley Stadium?

It seats 56,919 for Wolfpack football. The stadium opened in 1966 (as Carter Stadium; the Finley name was added in 1979) and sits in the west-Raleigh complex alongside Lenovo Center and the NC State Fairgrounds.

Is an apartment better than a hotel for a game weekend?

For two or more nights, usually — a full kitchen for the pre-game spread, room for the group, in-unit laundry, and a lower per-night cost than a comparable hotel, with no OTA service fee when you book direct. And you’re based in walkable downtown Raleigh, not out by the highway.
