Why book now

What's on at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2026

The year’s headline events — book your stay before the dates you want fill up.

Racing

Bank of America 400 (NASCAR Cup Series)

The fall playoff Cup race — back on the 1.5-mile oval for 2026. A three-day weekend (Trucks + Xfinity + Cup) and a top out-of-town draw.

Racing

World of Outlaws World Finals

Four straight nights of season-ending dirt racing at The Dirt Track — a national destination event for sprint-car and late-model fans.

Family

Speedway Christmas

The Southeast's largest drive-through holiday light show — 5+ million lights on a four-mile loop around the track. A six-week family draw.

Racing

NHRA 4-Wide Nationals (zMAX Dragway)

One of only two four-wide drag races in the NHRA season — three days of national-event drag racing next door at zMAX Dragway.

Racing

Coca-Cola 600 (NASCAR Cup Series)

NASCAR's longest race and a Memorial Day crown jewel — the single biggest race-weekend lodging draw in the Charlotte area. Book early.

Coming in for one of these? The closer you book, the less you fight for parking and post-event traffic — and direct rates skip the OTA service fee.

Apartment vs hotel

Built for an event weekend, not just a night

  • A full kitchen

Feed a group before the event and skip the overpriced venue concessions. Cookware, dishwasher, full-size fridge — all included.

  • Room for the whole crew

A 2-bedroom sleeps six — one apartment instead of three hotel rooms, with a living room to actually hang out in.

  • In-unit laundry

Pack light for a multi-night run of shows or a season of home games. Washer and dryer in every unit.

  • Lower per-night cost

For two nights or more, a furnished apartment usually beats a comparable downtown hotel — and direct booking drops the 15–20% OTA service fee entirely.

  • Skip the post-show grind

Event lots empty slowly and the drive home is long. Stay minutes away and the worst of your night is a short, familiar trip back to your own door — resident parking waiting, no hour-plus crawl out and no late highway haul.

  • A local team, not a call center

We own and operate every apartment. Book direct and you reach the people who run the building, instantly confirmed.

Getting around

Getting there & back

There's no light rail to Concord — the Blue Line ends down at UNC Charlotte — so getting to the speedway is a drive or the race-day bus. The good news: it's only ~15 miles up I-85, and on big race days CATS runs an express bus from the Uptown transit center straight to the gates, which is the easiest way to dodge the notorious Exit 49 traffic. Either way, you're basing in the city, not a campground.

  • CATS race-day express bus

The smart way in on a big race day: CATS runs a race-day express bus (the 79X) from the Charlotte Transportation Center in Uptown straight to the speedway, with a free on-site shuttle to the gates. It skips the paid lots and the hours-long post-race Exit 49 crawl entirely.

  • By car

I-85 North to Exit 49 (Bruton Smith Blvd) — about 15 miles / 25 minutes off-peak. Plan for much more on race day: ~100,000 fans funnel through Exit 49, and the post-race exit can take hours, so arrive early or take the express bus.

  • Rideshare

An Uber or Lyft is about 15 miles from Uptown — pricier than the bus but it skips parking, and pairs well with staying in the city for the night.

  • Charlotte Douglas (CLT) airport

    About 20 miles / a 25–30 minute drive — straightforward for a fly-in race weekend.

Good to know

Questions before you book

How far is each apartment from Charlotte Motor Speedway?

All four Trifecta buildings are in Uptown Charlotte, about 15 miles — a 25-minute drive up I-85 to Exit 49 — from the speedway in Concord. The VUE, at the north end of Uptown, is the quickest run. Plan for much longer on race day, or take the CATS express bus. Times are approximate.

What about race-day traffic — can I avoid it?

Yes, and you'll want to. Around 100,000 fans funnel through Exit 49 for the big races, and the post-race exit can take hours. The smart move is the CATS race-day express bus from the Charlotte Transportation Center in Uptown — it runs straight to the speedway with a free shuttle to the gates and skips the parking and the gridlock. If you do drive, go early.

Is staying in Charlotte better than a hotel or campground in Concord?

For a multi-night race weekend, often yes. Race-weekend hotel rates near the track surge, and the infield campground books out months ahead. A furnished Uptown apartment gives you a full kitchen for the tailgate spread, room for the whole crew, a lower per-night cost with no OTA service fee, and the city itself — restaurants, breweries, nightlife — when you’re not at the track.

What's the 2026–27 race schedule?

The fall NASCAR Cup playoff race is the Bank of America 400, back on the 1.5-mile oval Oct 9–11, 2026 (the road-course Roval is off the schedule this year). Then the World of Outlaws World Finals on the dirt track (Nov 4–7), Speedway Christmas lights (Nov 20–Jan 3), the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway (Apr 2–4, 2027), and the crown-jewel Coca-Cola 600 on May 30, 2027.

Is an apartment better than a hotel for a race weekend?

For two or more nights, usually — a full kitchen, room for the group, in-unit laundry, and a lower per-night cost than a surge-priced race-weekend hotel, with no OTA service fee when you book direct. It’s a comfortable home base for a NASCAR weekend in Charlotte.
